It’s About Time You’ve Kicked Your Own Ass

Have you ever had a ‘rude awakening’? It’s when someone else tells you something so brutally honest, it feels like they just threw some ice cold water on you behind your back in the heat of summer. It’s unexpected, feels completely awful at first, then you feel a little numb, and then the warmth returns slowly while you’re looking for the culprit (or trying to make sense of the whole situation). A rude awakening is honest, and can help you out of your comfort zone.

FOR EXAMPLE

You are in a large 12-person jacuzzi in Las Vegas. You’re relaxing on one end, enjoying a Bahama Mama, all by yourself, thinking, “Wow, how did I get this lucky?” And then out of nowhere, you hear someone say, “Eww, how can you stay in there with that piece of nastiness in there?” Then, out the corner of your eye, you see a little turd floating towards you and you hop out of there so quick, you forgot your drink.

All it takes is a little shit.

I mean shift.

Shit.

Anywho, all it takes is a little mental shift to get you out of someplace you feel comfortable, and it can help you in the long haul. And the best part? You don’t have to wait for someone else to give you a rude awakening for you to kick your own ass and get your butt out of your comfort zone. You know what you have to do, you know what you should be doing to be a success, so stop lollygagging and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

How To Kick Your Own Ass, Just Like The Pros 2.0

1. Take a deep breath. Stop worrying and overthinking, instead, be still.

2. Plan out your day and then -the sometimes hard part- stick to your friggin’ schedule.

3. DO THE THING INSTEAD OF AVOIDING IT OR MAKING EXCUSES

4. Be what you know you are capable of, anything less and that’s not success.

Now, it’s about time you’ve kicked your own ass.
